About Our Founder

Char Damneun, the founder of Pakse, has a rich and diverse background that has shaped his perspective and approach to business. Born in Laos, he escaped to Thailand in 1975 before immigrating to the United States in 1979. After graduating from Centralia High School in Washington in 1992, Char enlisted in the US military and served for 8 years, including 4 years of active duty in the Army and 4 years in the Washington National Guard. Stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky with the 101st Airborne Division and in Schweinfurt, Germany with the 3rd Infantry Division, Char honed his leadership skills and commitment to service.

In 1996, Char was naturalized as a US citizen, and in 2001, he graduated with a ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Saint Martin's College. Throughout his career, Char has had a diverse range of experience, starting in smaller family-owned businesses where he was involved in every aspect of projects, from concept to production. Later in his career, he honed his skills at larger corporations and assumed leadership roles, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. Today, Char continues to lead the Pakse team, bringing his unique blend of passion, experience, and commitment to each and every project.
